Hunter's Highlights

Winter weather ended the week with a bang. Due to inclement weather schools were dismissed 2 hours early. The front office checked out approximately 500 students in a time period of about an hour and a half. The entire Ardmore staff, particularly the office staff worked extremely hard to ensure everyone’s safety during this time. Parents were very considerate and patient and things went as well as they could during an event such as this. Hopefully we will not need to do this again, but winter has a couple of months remaining.

Mr. Preston Fogg was named a regional winner in the Bryant/Jordan Scholar Athlete Program. This is a huge honor and we are very proud of Preston. This qualifies Preston to compete in the state competition and we wish him the best of luck in Birmingham.

Basketball season is winding down and our seniors will be honored at a pep rally on February 1, 2010 due the weather cancellation of senior night. Our basketball teams have played wonderfully this season and we look forward to a big area tournament and wish both of our teams luck.

The AHS Varsity Cheerleaders will sponsor the first “Top Tiger” Competition. This will be a competition between 15 guys in grades 10-12 to win the title of “Top Tiger” and other prizes. This is similar to the “Dream Date” competition held in previous years. This event looks to be quite interesting.
