Hunter's Highlights

There have been a lot of great things happening in the classrooms of Ardmore High School. Ms. DeGrafenried’s Art class has been doing silhouette drawings and the students seem to be doing a wonderful job. Technology is being used all over the campus and one example is Coach Martin’s class using an instructional game similar to Jeopardy in order to review material for a test. The use of the game and the Promethean board make you feel like you are right there in the studio.

Our basketball teams continue to have a great year. It is hard to believe that the County Tournament is upon us. All of our teams will be competing for the County Championship. Both of our varsity teams are still in the hunt for an Area Championship and advancing in the play-offs. Kevin Shelton and Dagan Morrow are this year’s nominees for the Limestone County Spirit Award, given every year during the finals of the County Tournament.

Ardmore High School recently held its annual Spelling Bee. Middle School students competed to advance to the County Spelling Bee. Lance Perry was the champion speller for the 2009-2010 school year. We wish Lance luck as he competes in the County and hopefully the state competition.

Congratulations to Rachel Bridges for being selected the Ardmore High School DAR Good Citizen recipient! The announcement has been made that Rachel is the Limestone County Winner as well! Congratulations to her!!! The DAR Good Citizens program and scholarship contest is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of citizenship. The program is open to all senior class students enrolled in accredited public or private secondary schools. The student selected as the school's DAR Good Citizen must have the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism to an outstanding degree.

Report cards went out this week and hopefully everyone is excited about their grade, but if not, the second semester is just beginning so there is still time to change that grade!
