Hunter's Highlights

This has been an extremely busy week at Ardmore High School. This week was supposed to have been the only week the AHSGE was to be given. However, the winter weather continued and a snow day extended the AHSGE into the week of March 8, 2010 when the Reading Portion of the AHSGE will be given. Nine Weeks Exams are given Thursday and Friday March 11th, and 12th. Spring Break will be the Week of March 15, 2010 and everyone will be ready for a little time to rest.

Spring sports are well underway. We have 3 softball teams, 3 baseball teams, 2 golf teams, and 2 soccer teams playing this spring so a person can watch a game every day of the week except Sunday and Wednesday. All of our teams are doing wonderfully and this season looks to be another great year at Ardmore. We encourage you to support our athletes and coaches this spring.

Several of our high school students have helped Cedar Hill students celebrate Read Across America week. Our students traveled to Cedar Hill to read and act out stories for the Cedar Hill students. Special thanks go out to Mr. Brad Lewis for coordinating this event and making sure our students knew where to go and what to do.

Congratulations to Seth Harris! He is our 6th grade art student who will be representing Ardmore at the Alabama State Superintendents' Art Show in Montgomery. Each year, the Limestone Co. art teachers take the chosen students from each school to see their artwork displayed in the capital.

Kevin Shelton recently decided to play baseball for Birmingham Southern University. This is a tremendous honor for Kevin and we know he will do wonderfully. Birmingham Southern is a great school and we are honored to have several of our students currently attending this fine institution of higher education.

Our wonderful assistant principal and athletic director, Mr. Rusty Bates and his wife Kristin are the proud parents of Lauren Elizabeth Bates who was born at Huntsville Hospital this week and a weight of 2 lbs and 12 oz. Mom and baby are doing great and the Ardmore family wishes the best for the Bates family.
